👉🏼 (Reading: Romans 8:5-14)

📜 ""That's why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God.""
Romans 8:8 (NLT)

📋 No one can please God in the flesh. Those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The spirit man here means a body submitted to the will of God led by the Holy Spirit. The flesh is a person who is not subject to the will of God.

When we are saved, it brings us into conformity with God's nature. We become citizens of heaven as we are born and led by the Spirit. The flesh cannot inherit God's Kingdom. Through Jesus Christ, we have been ushered into his Kingdom and made the recipients of his priceless rights to God's glory.

The soul that depends on the Lord, pleases him. That is why our focus verse points us to the fact that flesh cannot please God. We are born of the Spirit and not of the flesh so as to live by the power of the flesh. And all deeds of the flesh are against the law of the Spirit.

To be pleasing to God, we must yield to the will of God. We must continually ask the Holy Spirit to fill us and renew his life in us. Let the Holy Spirit fill your heart and lead you according to God's will.

Give no room to the flesh.

🔑 Key Lesson: The Holy Spirit gives us the power to overcome the flesh in order to please God.

🛐 Meditation and Prayer: Holy Spirit, fill me afresh this day and give me the power to live right.
