📜 ""I do it all for the sake of the gospel, that I may share with them in its blessings.""
1 Corinthians 9:23 (ESV)
📋 When Christians become more concerned with new trends, they tend to forget the central point of being Christians. We must be gospel-driven rather than trends-driven. We are supposed to be a positive influence on cultures, being responsive to change but not to be blinded to the central message.
Paul was a responsive Christian in diverse cultural situations yet he remained faithful to the gospel. He became all things to all people in order to share the gospel with all kinds of people. We are called to take the gospel to places where Christ's light is not known.
We must focus on the central truth of the gospel: We all have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God, but Jesus came to die for our sins so that we might become the righteousness of God in him.
Through Jesus death and resurrection, we have the right of access to the Father. We must not let the message of the cross be diluted with modern ideas contrary to God's truth. Let us be careful about shifting the central landmarks of the Christian faith in the name of being current.
Do you still believe and share the true gospel?
🔑 Key Lesson: Christians must be gospel-centered and not culture-driven.
🛐 Meditation and Prayer: Lord, I thank you for your death and resurrection which brought us life. Help us to remain loyal to its message no matter what changes we see around.
