📜 ""Keep me safe, O God, for I have come to you for refuge ...
I know the LORD is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.
No wonder my heart is glad, and I rejoice.
My body rests in safety""
Psalm 16:1,8,9 (NLT)
📋 Those who take refuge in God are very safe because the Almighty God has the power to protect and deliver them. King David took refuge in God. He was very confident about his safety in the Lord. So in today’s text, he writes: “Keep me safe, O God, for I have come to you for refuge ... I know the LORD is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me. No wonder my heart is glad, and I rejoice. My body rests in safety.”
Nothing could shake David, because he knew that the God he had trusted for his security was ever present with him. He affirms confidently: “I know the LORD is always with me.” Those who have not taken refuge in God don’t have any assurance of their safety.
But “those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever” (Psalm 125:1). It is wise to take refuge in God because this brings a sense of security, peace and joy.
David attests to this: “No wonder my heart is glad, and I rejoice. My body rests in safety.”
Seek your safety in God.
