📜 ""It does not matter! I am happy about it--just so Christ is preached in every way possible, whether from wrong or right motives...""
Philippians 1:18 (GNT)

📋 People preach the gospel of Jesus Christ for various reasons; some preach it from right motives, but others preach from wrong motives. The Apostle Paul rejoiced over the preaching of Christ, no matter the motives from which it was preached.

He declares: "It does not matter! I am happy about it-just so Christ is preached in every way possible whether from wrong or right motives..." He pointed out that "some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry..." (v.15).

Today, there are many people in our churches who claim to be working for God, but their motives are wrong. For instance, out of the love of money, some are preaching or prophesying for financial gain. Some others sing, preach and prophesy for fame or popularity.

Still, others serve in the church for selfish motives. We are blessed when we seek to glorify God by working for him from right motives. Personally, Paul preached the gospel with integrity, seeking only to glorify God.

He asserts in 2 Corinthians 4:2: "Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to everyone's conscience in the sight of God."

What are your motives for serving in the Church of God?
