📋 Unless we persevere, we cannot achieve the important godly goals we have. The Apostle Paul had significant spiritual goals and knew what he needed to do in order to possess all that he desired. He expresses his intense desire: "I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death" (v.10).

He recognised the enormous value of knowing Christ personally and craved it. He also passionately desired to experience the power of the Holy Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead. That was not enough for Paul, he also wanted "to suffer with (Christ), sharing in his death" (v.10).

Paul knew that to obtain his goal, he needed to persevere, so he declares: "Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me."

Do you know that Christ saved you for a great purpose? What goals do you have by way of pursuing Christ's purpose for you? Remember that achieving them will not be easy because Satan will oppose and hinder you.

So, you need to adopt Paul's attitude; press on in your pursuit of those goals.
