📜 ""Your commands make me wiser than my enemies, for they are my constant guide.""
Psalm 119:98 (NLT)
📋 When you are confused, where do you turn to for counsel? When overwhelmed by the pressures of this life what do you resort to? The Psalmist has recognised God's gracious hand in protecting him from wicked people.
This, according to him, was because he lived by God's word. The word has made him wiser than his enemies, since he sees their traps long before they could catch him. If we have God's mind, it keeps us wise. God makes "children" who walk with him lead the elderly.
We can be sure that God will never lead us astray. This brings us to the question as to what constitutes wise living. By the world's standards, we are wise if we could outwit others either by foul or fair means. But God requires us to deal with all fairly, speak the truth even when it threatens our survival, to be honest although there are many short-cuts to get rich without getting caught.
Godly wisdom causes us to refuse to submit to our immediate need that are ungodly but rather to look at the bigger picture. Wisdom waits for the appointed time and it speaks only in season and does not miss the point. God wants us to be wise, that is why he gave us his word.
Are you being led by God's wisdom or by your own mind? Let wisdom lead you.
🔑 Key Lesson: Wise people base their lives on God's word.
🛐 Meditation and Prayer: Lord, thank you that I have your word, guide me to grow in your wisdom.
