📜 ""... I no longer count on my own righteousness through obeying the law; rather, I become righteous through faith in Christ. For God's way of making us right with himself depends on faith.""
Philippians 3:9 (NLT)

📋 No one can attain true righteousness by self-effort: God's word makes this clear: "We are all infected and impure with sin. When we display our righteous deeds, they are nothing but filthy rags.." (Isaiah 64:6).

Before becoming a born-again Christian, the Apostle Paul thought he could attain righteousness by trying hard to obey the law. But when he saw the light, he understood that all the self-effort at righteousness was an exercise in futility.

So, in today's focus verse, he declares, "... I no longer count on my own righteousness through obeying the law; rather, I become righteous through faith in Christ. For God's way of making us right with himself depends on faith."

Once we believe in Christ, we are made right with God: "Therefore, since we have been made right in God's sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us" (Romans 5:1). Our righteousness doesn't depend on what we do, but on what Christ has done for us on the cross.

So, we become righteous by believing in Jesus as our Saviour who paid fully for our sins. Through faith in Christ, we "are holy and blameless as (we) stand before (God) without a single fault" (Colossians 1:21-22).

Rely on Christ for your righteousness.
