👉🏼 (Reading: Philippians 2:5-11)

📜 ""Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honour and gave him the name above all other names.""
Philippians 2:9 (NIV)

📋 Humility is not very much valued among unbelievers, but God highly values it and rewards it. Our Lord Jesus declares: "I tell you ...those who exalt themselves will be humbled and those who humble themselves will be exalted" (Luke 18:14).

This is an unchanging biblical principle: God lowers the proud, but exalts the humble. As captured in today's anchor verse, our Lord Jesus was elevated because he humbled himself: ".. God elevated him to the place of highest honour and gave him the name above all other names."

Consequently, Jesus has the highest authority in the entire universe. So, at the mention of the name of Jesus every power, ruler, authority and dominion must submit to him in the three regions-heaven, earth and under the earth--because they know that God has made him Lord (Acts 2:36).

We too can expect God to exalt us if we wisely choose to humble ourselves because this is a promise from God's word: "So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor" (1 Peter 5:6).

God rewards humility in some other ways as well: "Humility is the fear of the LORD; its wages are riches and honor and life" (Proverbs 22:4).

Deliberately choose to humble yourself; God will reward you.

🔑 Key Lesson: God highly values humility and rewards it.

🛐 Meditation and Prayer: Lord, empower me to walk on the path of true humility.
