📖 GOD’S PARTNERSHIP IN LEADERSHIP

👉🏼 (Reading: Joshua 8:1-8)

📜 ""According to the commandment of the LORD shall ye do. See, I have commanded you""
Joshua 8:8b (KJV)

📋 I love the simplicity of the definition of leadership by Narh (2018).
According to him, leadership is God's partnership with man in which God wants to do something on earth; he looks for a man, equips him and sends him on a mission with a message.

In today's reading, we see God's partnership with Joshua to defeat Ai. Ai had earlier defeated Israel because of the sin of Achan. But when the sin factor was dealt with, Israel needed to go back and take possession of that land. They dared not move without leadership and strategy. God commanded and Joshua, as God's partner, repeated the command to the army.

At times, leadership failures in churches generate from non-compliance with the will of God as the ultimate leader. God wants his human partners to carry out an assignment but these partners either fail to recognise/ acknowledge God's voice or just choose to ignore his instructions and do their own thing.

This flaw has been the cause of most of the crisis in our churches and homes. We need to instruct followers or congregants "according to the commandment of the Lord" and be confident to tell them that this is the will of God.

God is our partner in leadership of all forms at various places: home, work or church. We need to obey his voice for the right direction.
Just be an obedient partner.

🔑 Key Lesson: God's partnership with leaders requires absolute obedience to his instructions.

🛐 Meditation and Prayer: Lord, help me to stay true to you as an obedient partner.
