👉🏼 (Reading: 2 Thessalonians 1:1-4)
📜 ""We ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love all of you have for one another is increasing.""
2 Thessalonians 1:3 (NIV)
📋 Our faith can grow and our love for others can increase. So we believers should aspire to experience ever-growing faith and ever increasing love. The Apostle Paul was encouraged to observe that there was an ever -increasing faith and love in the Thessalonian church.
He offered thanks to God with excitement: "We ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love all of you have for one another is increasing."
There was evidence of their faith: they remained faithful in the faith despite their hardships and troubles. Paul couldn't help it but praise these believers to other churches (v.4). We too can remain faithful in the faith during times of trials only if we are firm in the faith.
Therefore, we need to grow our faith by constantly feeding on God's word. The more we know our God and his truths and promises in his word, the more our faith will grow. Also, the more we allow the Holy Spirit to control us the more our love will increase (Galatians 5:16, 22-23).
Make every effort to grow your faith and increase your love.
🔑 Key Lesson: Our faith can grow and our love for others can increase.
🛐 Meditation and Prayer: Lord, give me the grace to feed regularly on your word and to walk by the Spirit so that I can experience ever increasing faith and love.
