👉🏼 (Reading: Psalm 2:1-12)

📜 ""Why do the nations plan rebellion? Why do people make their useless plots? Their kings revolt, their rulers plot together against the LORD and against the king he chose. 'Let us free ourselves from their rule,' they say; let us throw off their control.""
Psalm 2:1-3 (GNT)

📋 Is it not laughable that mere humans would rebel and plot against God? But that's exactly what some people do. They don't want God to control their lives; they want to free themselves from God's rule and the Lordship of his Son Jesus over their lives.

In their rebellion, they say, "Let us free ourselves from their rule … let us throw off their control." They waste their time in making their useless plans, pursuing their ungodly and selfish ambitions.

This makes God laugh: "From his throne in heaven the Lord laughs and mocks their feeble plans." God laughs at them because he knows how limited the power of rebellious humans is.

After all, he created them and as the all-knowing God, he knows all their futile plans, and as the all-powerful God, is able to bring everything under his control. So, it is ridiculous to rebel against God.

The wise thing for everyone is to "serve the LORD With fear; tremble and bow down to him ." (v. 11-12).
It is prudent to submit to the Lordship of Jesus and seek to know and do his will.
Are you in rebellion against God's control over your life?

🔑 Key Lesson: It is ridiculous for mere humans to rebel and plot against God.

🛐 Meditation and Prayer: Lord, give me the wisdom to submit to your lordship and to serve you willingly.
