📜 ""Let your eyes look straight ahead, fix your gaze directly before you. Make level paths for your feet and take only ways that are firm. Do not swerve to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil""
Proverbs 4:25-27 (NIV)
📋 To succeed at what God has called us to do, we must do the following: remove distractors, as most people now get hundreds of emails, texts and tweets every day.
How? By keeping the discipline of practicing your priorities. Do not accomplish easy things first or urgent things first. Do first things first, the activities that provide you with highest return.
That way, you minimize the distractors. In addition, protect yourself from distractors. We are always aware of the tension between our need to remain accessible to others and our need to withdraw from them as Jesus often withdrew from activities and prayed.
To know people's needs, he spent time with them. To meet people's needs, he spent time with God in prayer. As a result, he was always in the right place at the right time with the right people doing the right things.
If you are the type of person who doesn't socialize very much, you are likely to focus on your priorities.
However, if you are always on the go, then you need to periodically withdraw yourself so that you can be refreshed to accomplish what God has called you to do.
Stay focused on your priorities and resist distractors.
🔑 Key Lesson: If you do not separate yourself from distractors, they will separate you from your goal.
🛐 Meditation and Prayer: Oh God, keep me from distraction and make me stand firm for you.
