Psalm 17:4-5 (NLT)
📋 God's people ought to follow God's ways and not the ways of Satan and this evil world. The sure way to walk only in God's paths is to consistently follow God's word. It will be wise for us to imitate what David did as captured in today's anchor text: "I have followed your commands, which keep me from following cruel and evil people. My steps have stayed on your path; I have not wavered from following you."
We too must follow God's commands and principles as revealed in his word. There are corrupt and evil people in our society who can lead us astray from God's ways. But, if we feed constantly on God's word, we will become wiser than these people because we receive wisdom from God's word.
Wisdom will teach us not to compromise with evil; it will instruct us to pursue God's ways. Thus, we will be able to resist the ways of the ungodly. Then, like David, we too can declare boldly: "I have followed your commands, which keep me from following cruel and evil people. My steps have stayed on your path; I have not wavered from following you."
Joy, inner peace and prosperity will be ours if we follow God's ways by following his principles and commands.
Resolve to follow God's ways.
