📜 "And the words of the LORD are flawless, like silver purified in a crucible, like gold refined seven times"
Psalm 12:6 (NIV).
📋 The Bible is the infallible word of God. Therefore, it is the perfect divine manual for life. Anyone who believes in it, accepts it and lives by its teachings, principles, and warnings is blessed and will never be put to shame. In today's anchor verse, David celebrates the faultlessness and purity of God's word, when he writes: "And the words of the LORD are flawless, like silver purified in a crucible, like gold refined seven times."
In another Psalm, David praises God's word, saying: "The law of the LORD is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The precepts of the LORD are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the LORD are radiant, giving light to the eyes … The decrees of the LORD are firm, and all of them are righteous.
They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the honeycomb. By them your servant is warned; in keeping them there is great reward" (Psalm 19:7-11). God's word has immeasurable value.
It refreshes the soul; it bestows wisdom to the simple; it gladdens the heart; it enlightens us; it teaches us; it rebukes and corrects us; it trains us in righteousness; it encourages us, etc. Indeed, God's word is " "more precious than gold."
