👉🏼 (Reading: 2 Peter 1:16-21)

📜 """For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.""
2 Peter 1:21 (NIV)

📋 ""Contrary to the claim of some religions that their 'holy book' dropped from Heaven, the Bible was written by men through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.

In today's focus verse, the Apostle Peter points to this fact and says, "men spoke (and wrote) from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit." Thus, God spoke and men wrote it.

Believers must. therefore, maintain a strong uncompromising view of the Holy Scriptures as inspired and authoritative. Here are some reasons for this.

First, it is the only way to be loyal to what Jesus Christ, the early apostles and the Bible itself teach about Scripture (Psalm 119).

Secondly, it provides for the church a true and sure foundation for its faith. the certainty of salvation and standards that are true and relevant for all people in al situations for all time for living. Without the inspired word of God, there would be no sure message to preach no sure expectancy for baptism in the Holy Spirit; no working of miracles and no hope for Christ's soon and certain return.

Thirdly, it provides standards and objective truth by which to judge and reject this world's ever-changing values, human philosophies and ungodly practices (Psalm 119:160).

As a Christian, do you receive God's word as inspired by the Holy Spirit?

🔑 Key Lesson: The Holy Spirit is the only true source of Scripture.

🛐 Meditation and Prayer: Lord, help me embrace and act on your word as inspired by your Spirit.
