📋 ""Before humans many things might be true However, there is only one truth that sets people free from sin, destruction and Satan's power. The knowledge of this truth is necessary for one to enjoy the freedom it brings. Jesus made this clear to his disciples in our focus verse: "Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."
What is this truth that sets a person free? It is Jesus himself and the revelation of truth in his word In John 1:14. Jesus is described as being "full of grace and truth." Verse 17 says: "grace and truth came through Jesus Christ." In John 14:6, we read that he is "the way and the truth and the life." Jesus's message is also the word of truth, the gospel (Colossians 1:5).
Let us share some important observations about this truth; First, the highest, life-saving truth is found only in God's word which reveals the message of forgiveness and new life through faith in Jesus Christ.
Secondly, God's word, especially the New Testament revelation of Christ and the teaching of his apostles, presents the truth that frees people from sin, the corrupt world and demonic powers (Ephesians 2:20).
Finally, the truth that saves and frees people is revealed only from God by his Spirit and does not originate from any person.
Seek only the Jesus kind of truth.
