📜 ""Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are ..just..think on these things.""
Philippians 4:8 (KJV)
📋 A corrupted mind leads to corrupt actions. A corrupt person is neither just nor righteous. As a believer, you are considered the righteousness of God in Christ and are expected to engage in just dealings with others.
However, this expectation does not guarantee that all believers act justly or righteously. Meditating on the right things is essential if we are to cultivate just and righteous behaviour.
This is why our focus verse states, "whatsoever things are just…think on these things." Any thought of taking advantage of others, cheating or denying them what they deserve is unjust and unrighteous. Such thoughts are temptations from the devil, aimed at leading you into sin.
You must reject these thoughts immediately before they corrupt you. The word of God has power. By renewing our minds with the word, you are automatically transformed. To meditate on things that are just, we must fill our minds with the word of God.
In Romans 12:2 Paul exhorts that rather than being conformed to the world, we must, "be transformed by the renewing of (our) mind to prove what is good and acceptable and perfect..". The word of God is the source of truth that keeps the believer's mind pure and focused on things that are just.
So consistent meditation on God's Word will influence us to act justly in all areas of our lives.
