👉🏼 (Reading: Psalm 5:1-12)
📜 ""Lead me, LORD, in your righteousness because of my enemies make your way straight before me. Not a word from their mouth can be trusted; their heart is filled with malice. Their throat is an open grave; with their tongues they tell lies.""
Psalm 5:8-9 (NIV)
📋 As children of the holy and righteous God, Christians ought to walk along the paths of righteousness. God does guide his children who desire to know his ways and walk in them. David affirms in Psalm 23:3: "… He guides me along the right paths for his name's sake."
We live "in a world full of crooked and perverse people" (Philippians 2:15). These evil and wicked people around us are ready to deceive and mislead us to stray away from the ways of God. In today's anchor text, David describes these people when he writes: "Not a word from their mouth can be trusted; their heart is filled with malice. Their throat is an open grave; with their tongues they tell lies."
In the midst of such deceitful and malicious people, we need God's guidance to be able to make godly choices that are worthy of our calling as God's children. So, like David, we need to constantly pray: "Lead me, LORD, in your righteousness because of my enemies- make your way straight before me." God will guide us according to his promise in Psalm 32:8.
Don't let anyone lead you astray.
Seek God's guidance to enable you do what is right every time.
