Proverbs 13:22 (KJV)
📋 King David served God faithfully and pleased him with his ways. He lived a good life and was blessed by God with great wealth. David did not mishandle or squander the blessings he received; instead, he left them as an inheritance for his descendants.
The Bible states: "A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children," which leads us to conclude that David was indeed a good man. Like David, we should strive to serve God diligently under his grace, so that we may also be blessed with resources from which our children can benefit.
Many people have lived and died without leaving any inheritance for their children, let alone for their grandchildren. God encourages us to live lives worthy of emulation-full of hard work and dedication to him, so that we can leave a legacy for future generations.
A legacy can take many forms, and we must ensure that it is a good one, rather than a detrimental one. A good legacy will always reflect godly values. Good people do not squander their wealth or savings because they have the next generation in mind, thinking of what they can leave behind as a blessing for them.
