📜 ""...for God resisted the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.""
1 Peter 5:5 (KJV)

📋 Humility is a virtue that can elevate individuals in their walk with Christ. A humble person does not think of himself/ herself more highly than they ought to (Romans 12:3). Being humble is not about letting others have their way around you without fighting for your rights.

Rather, being humble is the proper assessment of self in the light of God's word and how God sees you, enabling you to eschew arrogance. Jesus had this view of himself and humbled himself to the point of death on the cross.

The Bible states,"…he humbled himself and became obedient unto death. even death on the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him" (Philippians 2:8-9). In our focus verse, the Apostle Peter reminds us that "God resists the proud and gives grace to the humble." If God resists a person, that individual will struggle to find help elsewhere.

However, if we remain humble like our Lord Jesus Christ, God will elevate us to the highest level. If things are not going well in our lives, it may be due to hidden pride, for which God will resist our progress and blessing.

Therefore, rid yourself of pride, and he will lift you up.

🔑 Key Lesson: Pride humiliates; humility exalts.

🛐 Meditation and Prayer: Father, if there is any form of pride in me, please take it away.
