📋 The Lord blesses those who choose to live a righteous life by delighting themselves in God's word constantly meditating on it and putting it into practice. Some of the blessings are captured in today's anchor text: "They are like trees that grow beside a stream, that bear fruit at the right time, and whose leaves do not dry up. They succeed in everything they do .. The righteous are guided and protected by the LORD, but the evil are on the way to their doom." Making them "like trees that grow beside a stream," the Lord causes the righteous to flourish in life.
They bear "fruit at the right time." That is, they are fruitful in life. These people who are committed to following God's ways lack nothing; their "leaves do not dry up." They enjoy divine favour: "In times of disaster they will not wither; in days of famine, they will enjoy plenty" (Psalm 37:19).
Those who live according to God's word are successful "in everything they do."
Furthermore, God protects and guides such people.
Feed regularly on God's word and follow his ways if you want to enjoy his blessings.
