👉🏼 (Reading: Isaiah 53:3-5)
📜 ""But He was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought us peace was on Him. And by His stripes, we are healed""
Isaiah 53:5 (NIV)
📋 The greatest act of love in history was displayed when Jesus Christ, the Son of God, willingly gave his life for humanity. He paid the ultimate price on the cross, not because he was forced, but because he chose to.
The weight of our sins, our mistakes and our rebellion against God were placed upon him. He took upon himself the punishment we deserved, offering us grace and forgiveness in return. Jesus' payment on the cross was the fulfilment of God's perfect plan for salvation.
His blood poured out, offering the only acceptable payment for sin - a price that we could never pay on our own. This is why we call it "Good News". Through his suffering and death, we receive forgiveness of sins; we are set free from the bondage of sin and death, and we have the privilege to be reconciled to God and to call him 'Father.'
As we reflect on today's text and Jesus' sacrifice on the cross, the question we should ask ourselves is,
"How should we respond to such a great love?"
Jesus paid the price for your salvation;
What will you also give to him?
You can give him your heart and live for him in appreciation of what he has done for you.
🔑 Key Lesson: Jesus died in our place so that we may live.
🛐 Meditation and Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for paying the price for me to be reconciled to God.
