📜 ""How long, LORD? Will you forget me forever?
How long will you hide your face from me? How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and day after day have sorrow in my heart? How long will my enemy triumph over me?""
Psalm 13:1-2 (NIV)

📋 Prolonged times of adversity can bring sorrow, confusion, anxiety, etc. Today's focus verse reflects this kind of situation in David's life-a time of perplexity and sorrow. He laments, saying: "How long, LORD? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and day after day have sorrow in my heart? How long will my enemy triumph over me?"
During such extended times of trials, we may experience doubts about God's love and faithfulness. For instance, because of his prolonged suffering, David thought God had deserted him and hidden his face from him.
But the truth is that God has unfailing love for his people and faithfully keeps his promise to be with us always. Are you going through an extended period of trials? Are you wrestling with perplexing thoughts
Do you feel sorrow in your heart?
Do you think that God has forgotten you?

Do what David did: Cry out to God in prayer. Trust in his unfailing love and expectantly wait for his deliverance. Then, like David, you too can declare: "I will sing the LORD's praise, for he has been good to me" (v.6).

🔑 Key Lesson: Prolonged times of suffering can bring sorrow, anxiety and perplexing thoughts.

🛐 Meditation and Prayer: Lord, strengthen me in times of prolonged challenges so that I may not despair.
