👉🏼 (Reading: Psalm 7:1-17)
📜 "Bring to an end the violence of the wicked and make the righteous secure- you, the righteous God who probes minds and hearts … who saves the upright in heart"
Psalm 7:9-10 (NIV).
📋 The God we serve is "the righteous God who probes minds and hearts" and is ready to save those who are upright heart. Consider, for instance, the case of Daniel, the man with unquestionable integrity. When his enemies plotted to destroy him, God delivered him from the lions den.
Christians who have resolved to "live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age" (Titus 2:12), can be sure that God will save them from their enemies and various forms of danger, calamity or adversity.
David chose to live an upright life, so he had the moral courage to pray: "… Vindicate me, LORD, according to my righteousness, according to my integrity, O Most High" (v.8). He asked God to allow his enemies to overcome him if he was guilty of sin: "LORD my God, if I have done this and there is guilt on my hands if I have repaid my ally with evil or without cause have robbed my foe then let my enemy pursue and overtake mne… " (v.3-5). Confident about his upright character, David boldly prayed: "Bring to an end the violence of the wicked and make the righteous secure- you, the righteous God who probes minds and hearts .. who saves the upright in heart."
Are you upright in heart? Trust God to save you from your enemies.
