👉🏼 (Reading: Zechariah 11:7-14)
📜 "Then the LORD said to me, "Throw it to the potter"-the lordly price at which I was priced by them. So I took the thirty pieces of silver and threw them into the house of the LORD, to the potter"
Zechariah 11:13 (ESV).
📋 The story of the Bible is a drama of history. We should be careful to select the role to play in it. The story still unfolds like a drama as each character plays what was foretold without
realizing it. Your walk with God makes you a character. Judas
Iscariot chose 30 pieces of silver. The Prophet Zechariah in out text foretold how God was going to react to Israel's rejection of God's covenant with them. The price of the betrayal was 30 pieces of silver. To fulfil this, one of Jesus' disciples betrayed him to the sinful national leaders and received the money. Later Judas regretted his action but did not repent. Matthew's Gospel gives this account; "Then when Judas, his betrayer saw that Jesus was condenned, he changed his mind and brought back the thirty pieces of silver .. saying, "I have sinned by betraying innocent blood." They said, “What is that to us? See to it yourself:" And throwing down the pieces of silver into the temple, he departed, and he went and hanged himself…" (Matthew 27:3-10). What role are you playing in today's episode? Walk with Jesus as his true disciple.
🔑 Key Lesson: We should be careful what role we play in God's story told in the Bible.
🛐 Meditation and Prayer: Lord, give me the right understanding to make the choices that align with your good plans for the
