📋 Those who have been in spiritual darkness and then got saved by God are the people who truly appreciate God's amazing love. The Apostle Paul is an excellent example of such people. Because he appreciated the depth of God's love, he was always thankful for his own salvation and the salvation of others.
For instance, in today's focus verse, he writes: "As for us, we can't help but thank God for you, dear brothers and sisters loved by the Lord. We are always thankful that God chose you to be among the first to experience salvation-a salvation that came through the Spirit who makes you holy and through your belief in the truth."
We too must always remember to thank God for the love he has demonstrated towards us. He has saved us by his grace through faith in Jesus; he has made us his holy people through the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit: he has destined us to "share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ" (v.14).
Seeing that God has graciously made us the objects of his love, we cannot help but thank him continually.
Constantly thank God for his love for you.
