👉🏼 (Reading: Proverbs 13:15-23)
📜 ""A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.""
Proverbs 13:22 (KJV)
📋 Our focus verse contrasts two groups: the good man and the sinner. The good man represents a righteous individual, while the sinner symbolizes an evil or wicked person.
According to the Bible, a good man leaves an inheritance for his grandchildren, which signifies his legacy extending at least three generations beyond himself. It is God's will to bless you abundantly so that even your great grandchildren can partake in the blessings bestowed upon you.
Sadly, many believers forget that God is the security for their prosperity and tend to drift towards the world's approach to making wealth. It is not God's desire for us to be the only beneficiaries of the blessings he bestows on us.
Just as we have firms or companies built over years through the hard work and diligence of ancestors, we should also do our best to genuinely acquire wealth and reputation that our children's children can benefit from.
We should not follow wrong paths for gaining wealth, as they are short-lived and devoid of God's blessings. We should strive to work diligently, live righteously, and trust in the Lord to honour his word in our life.
Ultimately, you must aim to be remembered as a good ancestor.
What kind of legacy are you leaving for your descendants?
🔑 Key Lesson: Good people will leave an inheritance for their generation.
