Ephesians 1:7 (KJV)
📋 There are times when we try to figure out how much of sin God forgives and to what extent he forgives us. In our reading today, we are told that the forgiveness of our trespasses is according to the riches of God's grace.
We may ask about the boundary of God's grace. Ephesians 2:7 tells us that God's grace is so boundless- immeasurable These riches are God's gifts bestowed on us out of his grace: gifts we receive not because of anything we have done. He lavishes these gifts (riches of his grace) upon us according to his own wisdom and insight.
This is where humans can never fathom how God operates. It's impossible for man to fully grasp how God operates using human wisdom or insight. Whereas man can just put logic together and declare things to be in a certain way, God's wisdom can render such logic foolish.
No wonder there are times God just brings someone from the ashes to a place of honour and nobody can really understand. He forgives us according to the riches of his grace so that we can do his bidding and serve his purpose.
Our living for Him is an expression of gratitude for the immense grace He has shown us.
