📜 ""And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure""
2 Corinthians 12:7 (KJV)
📋 Our God is mighty to protect us from satanic attacks, yet the Apostle Paul talks about a thorn given him, and he describes it as the messenger of Satan. Why would God allow the messenger of Satan into the life of one of his great apostles?
The apostle explains that the main purpose is to keep him from being conceited because of the surpassingly great revelations he had from the third heaven. We too like Paul have our own thorns in the flesh.
We get embarrassed by them, perhaps. People may even question our faith in God because of the messenger of Satan, which could be a weakness or an infirmity that defies prayer. But we don't have to worry. We need to pray with a conviction of hearing God's answer which may likely not be as we expect.
One thing, however, is assured: God's grace is sufficient, because in our weakness, God is strong and ever ready with that strength to help us endure the vicissitudes of life.
Is there a persistent challenge that has defied all forms of prayer?
Allow God's strength in that weakness, and you'll only boast in the Lord, and not in your own achievements.
🔑 Key Lesson: When negative situations persist in our lives, God's grace is sufficient.
🛐 Meditation and Prayer: Lord, grant me the grace to embrace your strength in my weaknesses.
