👉🏼 (Reading: Psalm 11:1-7)
📜 "The LORD is in his holy temple; the LORD is on his heavenly throne. He observes everyone on earth; his eyes examine them"
Psalm 11:4 (NIV).
📋 Our lives are under scrutiny. Today's anchor text makes this clear: "The … LORD is on his heavenly throne. He observes everyone on earth; his eyes examine them."
God watches and examines us; nothing we think, plan or do is hidden from him. At the time of judgment, the Lord will expose every secret and reward everyone according to what they have done. The Apostle Paul affirms this in 1 Corinthians 4:5, when he writes: "So don't make judgments about anyone ahead of time-before the Lord returns.
For He will bring our darkest secrets to light and will reveal our private motives. Then God will give to each one whatever praise is due." Do you know that God is observing how you treat your fellow believers, your spouse, your children, your employees, your co-workers, your customers, your neighbours, etc.? Do you know that God examines your motives for doing the things you do? Since the Lord observes our actions, our darkest secrets and examines our private motives, what manner of people ought we to be.
The obvious wise thing for us to do is to live upright and godly lives in this present evil world. This means, we need to pursue righteousness, holiness, purity, honesty, truthfulness and to serve God with a sincere conscience. What kind of life are you living?
🔑 Key Lesson: God watches and examines us; nothing is hidden from him.
🛐 Meditation and Prayer: Lord, enable me to live an upright and a godly live in this evil world.
