👉🏼 (Reading: 1 Thessalonians 2:11-15)
📜 ""And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe.""
1 Thessalonians 2:13 (NIV)
📋 What we think of the word of God and how we receive it determine the kind of impact it will have on our lives. When the word of God is preached, some people do not really consider it as the word of God for them to obey it, and therefore the word has very little or no influence on their lives.
But the believers in Thessalonica accepted the message they heard from the Apostle Paul as the word of God. Paul writes: "And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe."
God's word worked in those believers because they believed and accepted Paul's message as God's word. We too need to accept what we read or hear from the Bible as the very word of God. This allows the word of God to do its work in us: "teaching, rebuking, correcting and training (us) in righteousness .."' (2 Timothy 3: 16).
Accept God's word wholeheartedly and obey it.
🔑 Key Lesson: When we accept God's word, it works in us.
🛐 Meditation and Prayer: Lord, give me the wisdom to accept your word as it actually is-the word of God.
