👉🏼 (Reading: 1 Thessalonians 2:7-12)

📜 ""You are witnesses, and so is God, of how holy, righteous and blameless we were among you who believed.""
1 Thessalonians 2:10 (NIV)

📋 God's eternal purpose for us as his children is that we will become like his Son in character attitude and conduct (Romans 8:29). So it should be the desire of every true follower of Christ to be like him. The Apostle Paul set an excellent example for us to imitate. The way he conducted himself toward the believers in Thessalonica was exemplary.

In today's focus verse, he declares: "You are witnesses, and so is God, of how holy, righteous and blameless we were among you who believed." Paul did not only urge the believers to "live lives worthy of God" (v.12), but also practised what he preached.

Paul's conduct toward the believers "was pure, right, and without fault" (GNT). He lived with so much integrity that he could even call God his witness concerning the life he lived. This is the kind of godly living all of us should pursue.

So, it will be commendable if we heed Paul's admonition in 1 Timothy 6:11: "But you .. flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness."

We need to pursue godly living in this perverse and corrupt generation so that people will see our character and good deeds and glorify our heavenly Father (Matthew 5:15-16).

Pursue a Christ-like lifestyle which can make you also call God your witness.

🔑 Key Lesson: God's eternal purpose for his children is that they will all become like his Son Jesus.
