📋 ""The Apostle Paul was one servant who described his relationship with Christ in terms of a deeply personal attachment to and reliance on his Lord. He claimed that he no longer lived, but Christ lived in him. This is aptly captured in today's focus verse: "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me:…".
This suggests that those who have true faith in Christ should consider themselves to be united with him in such a way that they relate to and identify with Jesus both in his death and his resurrection. In other words, all Christians have been crucified with Christ on the cross.
Their old sinful, rebellious way of life was put to death with Jesus as he paid its full penalty through his death (2 Corinthians 5:21). In addition, Christians have been freed from the law's requirement of having to rely or imperfect sacrifices as a way to receive forgiveness and maintain a relationship with God.
As a result of this freedom, Christians have a new life. They therefore no longer live but Christ lives in them giving them the power to live in righteousness.
Do you know that you have been crucified with Christ?
Let him live in you now.
