👉🏼 (Reading: Ephesians 2:19-22)

📜 ""… in whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit"
Ephesians 2:22 (KJV)

📋 Worldliness, selfishness and individuality creeping into the Church now question the identity of the Church as the body of Christ. In modern society, individual self accomplishments are hailed while teamwork and corporate effort are least appreciated.

But in Christ, teamwork is very crucial for the Kingdom. In as much as salvation is personal, our essence is established in the body of Christ. According to today’s passage, Jesus brought us together to be part of the commonwealth of God and citizens of his kingdom.

As a body, we’re likened to a building of which Jesus is the chief cornerstone, holding us all together, and that we are being built up together to be the habitation of God through his Spirit. Every building must house something or someone.

In the case of the Church, we are to house God in the person of his Holy Spirit. However, no dilapidated building can be inhabited by anybody of great stature like our God. That is why we need to remain truly united as one building, being intact and habitable by our God.

We must make the Church a conducive place for God to inhabit. When individuals in the Church work together, it promotes unity in the body.
What are you doing as an individual to keep the Church united and pure to be the habitation of God?

🔑 Key Lesson: The unity of the Church makes it habitable by the Spirit of God.

🛐 Meditation and Prayer: Dear Father, help us to maintain the unity and purity of the Church to house your presence.
