π "β¦and upholding all things by the word of his powerβ¦ "
Hebrews 1:3 (KJV).
π David wrote in Psalms 62:11: "God has spoken once, and twice have I heard this: that power belongs to God" (KJV). It is a true statement that all power belongs to God, and this power is expressed through his spoken word. The Bible is also called the "word of his power:" Our focus verse reminds us that God upholds all things by the power of his word. In other words, the world and everything in it operate according to the decree of God's word. He spoke once, which was sufficient everything obeys the command God issued long ago. What is the significance of our focus verse today? It teaches us that there is power in the Word to uphold all things, heal, restore, quicken, etc. Like God, we should use the word to "create" the atmosphere we wish to live in. When we speak God's word, it produces powerful effects. This means we must apply the right words to the various situations we face in our lives. Nothing can resist the power of God's word. Circumstances may worsen if we neglect to speak God's word into our lives. What do you wish to have in life? What do you wish you could lay hold of in your life? Use the word of God to bring about that change you are looking for. It is possible with the word of God we believe and confess! Do you recognise the power of God's word?
