📜 ""The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy making wise the simple""
Psalm 19:7 (NIV)
📋 We can have full confidence in God's word because it is totally trustworthy; it is truthful right and flawless. The trustworthiness of the Bible is traceable to its author- God. God is perfect and trustworthy, therefore, we can have complete confidence in what his word says.
In today's focus verse, David affirms: ".. The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy .." We humans sometimes make promises but fail to fulfil them. But God never fails to keep his promises.
In Psalm 145:13, the Psalmist testifies to God's trustworthiness: "... The LORD is trustworthy in all he promises and faithful in all he does." So, when we read the promises of God in his word, we can believe them with confidence.
Because God's word is trustworthy, we believers can confidently declare that we have eternal life because it is written: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16).
Similarly, we can rest assured that Jesus is coming back to take us with him to heaven because he declares: "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am" (John 14:3).
Besides, we can confidently declare that Satan cannot harm us because God's word says so (1 John 5:18).
Put your confidence in God's word.
