👉🏼 (Reading: Zechariah 4:1-14)

📜 ""Then he said to me, "This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the LORD of hosts.""
Zechariah 4:6 (ESV)

📋 These days there is the tendency to put our faith in the skills and the resources we have to accomplish God's work. The message received from God by Zechariah the Prophet to Zerubbabel, the Governor of Judah leading the rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem at that time, is clear.

As the focus verse indicates, God is saying: the successful activity of rebuilding the temple can happen only through the help of the Holy Spirit. The most important thing the Governor needed at that time was keeping at bay the hand of enemies that were against rebuilding the temple in Jerusalem.

The workers must also be encouraged to persevere in the face of opposition. God assured his people that he would see to that by his Spirit. This underscores the spiritual dimension of the physical activities we undertake.

In executing various activities of the kingdom, we need the active participation of the Holy Spirit. He is able to effectively handle the constant opposition that comes from enemies and any discouragement of the team or people we are working with.

It is only through the Spirit that our success stories can be relevant.
Pray today for the help of the Holy Spirit.
