👉🏼 (Reading: 1 Thessalonians 3:10-13)

📜 ""May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else just as ours does for you.""
1 Thessalonians 3:12 (NIV)

📋 It is God's will that his people love each other deeply. Being an imitator of Christ, the Apostle practised love in his relationship with his spiritual children and everyone else. Just as he loved people, Paul also wanted to see love among the believers in Thessalonica.

So he prayed for them: "May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you." Paul prayed a similar prayer for the Philippian believers: "I pray that your love will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding" (Philippians 1:9, NLT).

Since our God is a loving Father, we ought to imitate his love. It is to this end that the Apostle Paul urges us to "Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us ..." ( Ephesians 5:2).

Loving others is not easy because, by nature we humans are selfish beings. So we need God's power to be able to love others since agape love is a fruit of the Spirit. "Like Paul we need to constantly ask God to make (our) love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else ..."

Do you desire to love others more? Ask God to increase your love for them.
