📋 As humans, it's easy for us to complain or worry when we find ourselves in unfavourable circumstances. None of us loves to live in discomfort, want or pain. But the truth is that as long as we live in this fallen world, we will face adverse situations sometimes.

Challenges are an inseparable part of life no one can escape from this. The Apostle Paul had his share of adverse circumstances. But he wisely learned to live with such situations with contentment. In today's focus verse, he testifies: "l am not saying this because l am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances."

His contentment in life no longer depended on external circumstances. He says further: "I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want" (v.12).

The secret Paul learnt was that Christ, who lived in him, could always give him the strength to endure and survive in all circumstances. He writes: "For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength" (v.13).

We too need to understand that we have the strength to face all conditions by the power that Christ gives us.
Learn to be content in all circumstances.
