👉🏼 (Reading: 1 Corinthians 6:7-11)
📜 ""… thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God""
1 Corinthians 6:10-11 (NIV)
📋 Many believers feel trapped by past mistakes, bad habits, or circumstances beyond their control of which they have concluded that they were going nowhere good in life.
The Corinthians were once in that same place-thieves, full of greed, drunkards, slanderers, swindlers, cheats, etc. Paul reminded them that they were once lost in sin, but something changed: they encountered Jesus.
The words "but you were washed" declare the power of salvation. No matter where we come from, Jesus cleanses us. "You were sanctified" means God set us apart for a greater purpose. "You were justified" means we are made right with God, not by our works, but by his grace.
God specialises in taking people from nowhere to somewhere. He lifts us from brokenness and gives us a new identity. We don't have to stay trapped in the past.
When we surrender to Christ, he leads us into a life of purpose, joy and eternal hope.
Do you feel stuck in any past mistakes?
Remember that Jesus has already made a way. Walk boldly in the new life he has given you.
🔑 Key Lesson: No matter how trapped we feel by our past mistakes, Jesus offers us a new beginning.
🛐 Meditation and Prayer: Lord, help me to walk in the freedom and new identity you have given me in Christ.
