Thirty-five years ago today, on 23rd May 1991, three Justices of the Court of Appeal in Accra, with the stroke of a gavel, delivered a judgment that split the E. P. Church in Ghana and marked one of the most painful chapters in its history.

But God from the ashes built for himself a Church, the Global Evangelical Church.

As we remember this solemn moment, we must reflect on the lessons of the past - the events, actions, and failures that led to the division. History should not only be remembered: it should instruct and guide us.

May the anniversary remind us to rededicate ourselves to doctrinal purity, accountability, humility in leadership, and unwavering respect for the Church's constitution and governing structures. Let us commit ourselves anew to unity, mutual respect, and faithful stewardship so that the painful mistakes of the past are never repeated.

May wisdom prevail over pride, reconciliation over division, and truth over personal ambition so that we can sustain the peace, stability, and the future of the church.

Happy 35th Anniversary to the Global Evangelical Church.
