👉🏼 (Reading: Isaiah 1:13-17)

📜 "Wash yourselves clean, remove the evil of your deeds from before my eyes"
Isaiah 1:16 (ESV).

📋 Often times, when people say they have repented from their sins, they probably only mean they are no longer openly sinning. They act holy or right before people but their heart still harbours those acts or the intentions to do them again. our focus verse, God instructs his people to wash and make themselves clean. He further asks them to remove the evil of their deeds from before his eyes. This means that God
demands genuine repentance from our sins. Without genuine repentance, we can still harbour old sins in our hearts. We may remove evil deeds from before the eyes of men and still have them before the eyes of God. As long as the acts we claim to have stopped still lurk in our hearts as desires, we're still keeping them before the eyes of God. So for us to really remove the evil before the eyes of both men and God, we need to work on our hearts. We need to allow the word of God alone, the source of life, to occupy our hearts more to serve as purifier to rid our hearts of all evil. Have you been struggling with unclean desires Repent, stop it. Get rid of it with the word of God and prayer.

🔑 Key Lesson: Hatching evil in the heart is sin before God.
