📋 God's desire is for everyone to be saved.
Fortunately, he has not made it difficult for us to receive his gracious gifts of forgiveness, salvation and eternal life with him.
If a person recognises his or her need for God, humbly acknowledges his or her sin, believes in the finished work of Jesus for salvation, and then calls on him for mercy, that person can receive forgiveness and salvation as stated in our focus verse: "Evervone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
As simple as this first step may appear though, our focus passage equally reveals that people can only believe in Jesus and call on his name when they hear about him. For this to happen, the Apostle Paul says someone must be sent to preach to them about Jesus (v. 15).
In other words, the whole process of calling on the name of Jesus for one's personal salvation starts with someone who cares enough to communicate the message of Jesus.
Christians are, thus, urged to send and support those whom God has called to deliver his message to people so that they also can believe in Jesus and call on his name for their salvation.
