📜 ""O LORD, hear my plea for justice. Listen to my cry for help. Pay attention to my prayer, for it comes from honest lips""
Psalm 17:1 (NLT)

📋 When we are in trouble, the right person to go to for help is God at his throne of grace. This is what the writer of Hebrews urges us to do, when he writes: "Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need" (Hebrews 4:16, NIV).

Psalm 17 is David's prayer for help in his time of need-a time of severe persecution from King Saul. His life was in serious danger, so he cried to God to deliver him.

In today's focus text, David cries out to the Lord: "O LORD, hear my plea for justice. Listen to my cry for help. Pay attention to my prayer, for it comes from honest lips." David did no wrong to Saul. He was being treated unjustly. But David knew exactly what to do: crying out to God for justice.

This is what we too ought to do when we face similar situations in life. Jesus assures us that God will grant us justice when we persistently cry out to him: "And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? .." (Luke 18:7). Cry out to God when you are in trouble.

🔑 Key Lesson: It is wise to cry out to God when we are in trouble.

🛐 Meditation and Prayer: Answer me, Oh Lord, where I cry out to you in my time of trouble.
