📜 "It is finished"
John 19:30 (NIV).
📋 Good Friday the solemn day when we remember and reflect on the ultimate sacrifice that Jesus made on the cross. The statement, "It is finished," made by Jesus in his final moments, marks the completion of his earthly mission.
With his death, he bore the weight of humanity's sin, taking on the punishment we rightfully deserve. In doing so, he paid the penalty for all who believe in him, offering us forgiveness and the hope of eternal life.
The cross stands as the ultimate symbol of God's profound love, his unyielding justice, and his endless mercy. It is where the holiness of God and his deep love for us meet most powerfully. On the cross, Jesus took on the weight of our sins, enduring unimaginable physical, emotional, and spiritual suffering, so that we could be reconciled to God.
His death is the final sacrifice, fulfilling the law and making a way for us to be in a relationship with the Father. As we reflect on Good Friday, we are reminded of the immense cost of our salvation. It was not free-it came at a high price. Jesus endured rejection, ridicule, and brutal death, but through it all, he triumphed over sin and death, offering us victory and hope.
Good Friday is both a day of mourning and a day of celebration.
