👉🏼 (Reading: 1 Corinthians 11:23-29)

📜 "This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me"
1 Corinthians l1:24 (NIV).

📋 Maundy (Holy) Thursday commemorates the profound and intimate moment when Jesus shared his final meal with his disciples before his crucifixion. During this meal, Jesus instituted the sacrament of Communion, offering the bread and wine as symbols of his body and blood, which were soon to be broken and shed for the salvation of the world.

These elements serve as a lasting reminder of his sacrifice and the incredible love he demonstrated through his death.
But Maundy Thursday is not only a time to reflect on the institution of Communion. It is also a moment to remember the humble act of service that Jesus performed when he washed his disciples' feet. As the Saviour, he took on the role of a servant, demonstrating that true greatness in the Kingdom of God is found in humble service.

This act serves as a reminder that Christ calls us to love and serve one another, not from a place of superiority but in the humility of a servant. As we partake in Communion, we remember the immense cost of Jesus' sacrifice and the love that compelled him to give himself up for us.

It's a time to reflect not only on what he did for us but also on how we are called to live in response.

🔑 Key Lesson: Maundy Thursday reminds us of Christ's sacrifice and his call on us to serve one another in love.

🛐 Meditation and Prayer: Thank you, Jesus, for your body and blood given for me. Help me to love and serve others as you love me.
