📖 QUIET DEEDS, LOUD LOVE!

📖 QUIET DEEDS, LOUD LOVE!

👉🏼 (Reading: Matthew 6:1-4)

📜 "But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing" Matthew 6:3 (NIV).

📋 In a world where social media thrives on "likes" and recognition, Jesus' words in Matthew 6:1-4 challenge us to a different kind of generosity-one that seeks God's approval, not human applause. Mother Theresa once said, "In this life we cannot do great things. We can only do small things with great love." Jesus warns us against practising righteousness just to be seen, urging us to give in secret so that our Father, who sees in secret, will reward us. Imagine a day at an eatery (chop bar) and you see someone struggling to pay for her meal. Instead of making a show of your generosity, you quietly cover the cost and walk away. Or perhaps a friend is in need, and rather than announcing your help, you give anonymously. These simple acts reflect the heart of Christ which is giving without expecting praise. The temptation to seek recognition is real. Humans naturally desire appreciation. However, Jesus reminds us that true reward comes not from the applause of people but from the approval of God. When we give with pure motives, we mirror Jesus' heart-a heart that loves without conditions and blesses without seeking anything in return. Today, look for opportunities to bless someone without drawing attention to yourself.

🔑 Key Lesson: Our generosity must target God's approval, not human applause.
🛐 Meditation and Prayer: Lord, help me to show kindness to others without announcing it.
