👉🏼 (Reading: Genesis 35:9-13)
📜 "God appeared to Jacob again, when he came from Paddan-aram, and blessed him"
Genesis 35:9 (ESV).
📋 God is always following us but we are too slow to pick his signals. In our text, God once again came to assure Jacob and even gave him a new name. God was always following Jacob even in his dark moments. Jacob said, ".. God … answers me in the day of my distress and has been with me wherever I have gone". In Jacob's case, he had a special favour with God. We can trace that to a covenant. Earlier, God spoke to Abraham and promised to bless him and his offspring. God was watching to perform his word in the life of Jacob. Again, the scriptures say, "For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward him … " (2 Chronicles 16:9 (ESV). We do not need to see God in-person or hear an audible voice from him before we are assured that he is with us and is watching over us. We must be awake to his presence and purposes always. God has invested his love you through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He is watching over his investment in you to see that it brings you into his presence in heaven. Know that God is with you and watches over you. Walk before him.
